If you ask me what my favorite place to take photos in Ocala is, the Appleton Museum is high on my list! The museum is only about 10 minutes east of Downtown Ocala, and I think it’s one of the most beautiful structures in the city. The large marble columns and staircase make for a great backdrop as well as its fountain in the front. It’s a go to spot for family photo sessions because kids also love it. There’s plenty of room to walk/run around between the steps, tree line, big area of grass, and of course they all LOVE the fountain (my daughter included)! So, I always save the fountain for the end, and the little ones are so excited to dip their fingertips in it. It’s the little things, right?
Hilary reached out to me about wanting to have family photos taken for her daughter’s first birthday. She asked me about locations so we used The Appleton Museum! Her daughter was turning one just a few days later, so it was fun to celebrate with them. My daughter isn’t too much older so it was special to work with another little girl. Scroll down and take a look at the photos because her big smile WILL brighten your day! Oh, what a happy little girl! Hilary picked the most beautiful white dress for her too. I always say “plain” and neutral outfits photograph so well because it allows the focus to go to the people in the images.
This first birthday family photo session was one of my absolute favorites and I hope to do a lot more of these in 2022!
