Our 3 Year Anniversary Session | Downtown Chicago

This May, my husband and I celebrated three years of marriage! We still kind of feel like newlyweds to be honest (maybe that’s just because we don’t have kids).  “I miss you,” “I love you,” and “You’re my best friend” are words we say to each other every day. It seems like there’s never enough time with each other. Work tends to get in the way, doesn’t it? So whenever we get to take a trip, it is so exciting to have a lot of uninterrupted quality time together. In the last three years, we have ended up going to Chicago for all three anniversaries!

I bring my camera each time we go, but I remember thinking last year how much I would love to have someone take OUR picture when we were there together. I want to have photos of our life together over the years, and not just wait for Christmas time or a big life event. So I added that to my bucket list, or as I like to call it, my dream list. I also think it’s important for me to get in front of the camera too so I am reminded of what it’s like (trust me, I much prefer being behind the camera)! I believe this helps me serve my couples better, which is so important to me. When we booked our trip this year, the very next thing I did was book Nicole Jansma Photography to do an anniversary session for us. Nicole and I met through the Rising Tide Society on Instagram and I have loved following her beautiful work over the last year. I just knew I had to have her take our photos, no matter what the cost!

So today I wanted to share a little more about my life, my husband, and us as a couple. We believe saying “I Do” was the best decision we ever made, and have loved these first three years of marriage. There’s no one else I’d rather do life with and I am so thankful for a husband who wakes up at 5am on vacation to have his picture taken with me 🙂

PS- Currently, another tab open on my computer is a canvas website. Help me decide which of these photos to add to our walls in our home! Our walls are already pretty filled with canvases…I guess you could say I believe in what I do 😉

They are all so gorgeous! I think my favorite is the one you shared today. I love the ones with the bean too though! So glad you got to check something off your dream list during your lovely weekend together.
